So...as you can tell by the header, last night me and Anna went bar hopping and we obviously had fun. We spend the entire night in East Village, which is probabaly gonna be where we go from now on becuase as much as Greenwich Village is famed for its bars...its too old, and expensive for us...

We went to a hookah bar first and smoked some shisha...it was exciting becuase the place had this option of using real fruit instead of a head to pack the tobacco into. we got pineapple :D I'll upload the pics later...

And then we headed outside again and just walked around until we found this one diva bar i wanted to check out called the Holiday Cacktail...i think. It was nice...we had 3 of the specials which is a shot and a beer for 6$. And we spend the time there sitting and grading all our mutual guy friends on a level of 1 to 10 based on body, face, personality and how good they would be in bed :P

Then we headed out again and the next place we went to I gave my ID ( which is from Manitoba....) and told the guy I'm from Halifax...THANK GOD he didn't question it...becuase thats so incredibly wrong...but I coudn't think.

After that I went outside for a smoke and met this french looking guy named Misha...and made out with him....

Then I went got Anna and was all for leaving and ditching the guy, but he kept following us. Anyway, I had to eventually convince him that me and Anna are lovers and he only want each other and he is not welcome. Yet a while after while we are looking for the subway I still see him following us along....IT WAS SKETCH

Looking back now, I don't understand why I talked to him at all, he was sketch all over -____- I fail...

OHHH, and while looking for the subway we stopped at a corner trying to orient myself and i was in a staring compretition with this big black security guy in a suit, he looked very classy :) After looking into his eyes for about 30 second straight, I kinda just go "What's up?" really casually like....while at the same time he goes "How are you?" I think he was conserned becuase Anna was beside me trying to keep her food IN her stomach and not all over the pavement. Anyway, he ended up giving us directions to the nearest subway stop :)

NOW....I've been awake since 9am and its almost 5pm now... so I have gotten over my mini hangover but .....it still feels like morning.

We are gonna head out to the movies soon...so maybe I'll post something tonight...

EDIT: by the way, I forgot to mention it, but I burned my face!!!! yes, you read that right....

I SOMEHOW managed to burn my eyelid, right under where my right eyebrow starts with my own cigarette.

Lesson of the day: DON"T SMOKE KIDS!

Draco = LOVE

Draco, Harry - "Boo" "Prat"
I saw Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince yesterday!!! It was YUMMY :)

The movie wasn't all that great but then what can be expected from an a condensed version of a book of about 600+ pages! Its impossible to really translate that into a movie and get all the details in. STILL! Draco has some epic scenes in it...some are more flattering then others...but regardless, he was awesome.

There is also a lot of crying in this movie...and I don't mean in the audience, i mean from the characters. The most convinsing sob-fest was by far hermoine though

Oh, and Daniel Radcliffe is SHORT and fails as an actor, but its okay because he was cute about 3-4 years ago :)

Tom Felton on the other hand is growing into his looks very well :D (Can you tell I like him more? No?...Well I do)

Okay...I'll stop here before I start spoiling the actual movie...

Hopefullt today we will go to Manhattan, its been almost a week since we've left Brooklyn...I'm missing my inner-tourist :P

Stuff happened...but overall the weekend wasn't all that amazing. Friday we finally reached the Met, that was fun in a very educational/touristy way BUT THEN we went to the willage and back to the Back Fence and drank a bit...and got hit on my OLD MEN....cuz everyone is obviously over 21 :(

So instead, this weekend we are heading to East Village where the Punk/rock scene is and therefore hopefuly there will be more kids our age.

Anyway ON SATURDAY:

We slept in and then in the evening went to a hookah bar because we are used to smoking shisha on a semi-regular basis of..about every other day and going for almost a week without it made Annd in particular go mad...i was still okay because I rely on actual cigarettes a lot more then shisha. BUT anyway, the place we found was in this sketch neighbourhood in brooklyn, but the hookah ( the actual device you smoke from) was SOOOO pretty and big, it was over a meter tall! And the whole atmosphere rocked!

OHHHH, on the way there some guy hit on me as he walked past me on the street...he actually said "Damn Girl"! I took
about 5 stept a way from him and burst out laughing!!! ALSO on the way there ( but earlier) we saw these little kids ( about 10 years old if i had to guess) acting like the mafia...if i remember the Italian sounding one actually said "Find an alley and we'll beat him up real good. Thats what he gets for messing with me" to his friend and the kid getting bead up answered "Come on Freddie, I'll sell it to you cheap" We were walking behind then and I coudn't breath becuase I was trying to keep my laughter in...my eyes were watering and Anna's face got really red! IT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE SEEN IN YEARS!

Anyway...then On Monday we lounged and Anna walched/read a LOT of Naruto. On Tuesday we went to the Brooklyn Zoo and to the brooklyn Botanical gardens, neither of which were very impressive but here is a pic or two anyway:

<--this is me being stupid at the zoo and "leaping like a frog" though really it looks like i'm having a mini party on that lilipad :D

<-- this is me comparing my tattoo to an actual tiger lily :) Similar, no?

After all this, Anna being the cafine addict that she is dragged me to the only starbucks we found in Brooklyn so far, outside Brighton Beach station...the coffee (actually a smoothie, but same shit) was yummy. Then we went to the ACTUAL BEACH which we keep missing. It was nice because that was the first really sunny hot day we had in a while so I was happy.

ALSO I GOT A MONGO FLOWER ON A STICK!!! no joke

SEE:
<--- IT WAS DELICIOUS!

Okay...thats all for now...though really this whole post was like an update...since it all happened a few days ago now..

Failure of Reaching the Met = ADVENTURE!

This post was meant to be posted on either Wednesday night, but we got home late and I was dead tired from walking...or Thursday sometime...but Anna hogged the laptop all day watching Bleach and I was too busy playing Pokemon Platinum on her DS to protest...

Yeah, we're nerds...

BUT!

On Wednesday we mission-ed down to the Metropolitan Museum of Art History (Met) but we got there around 2pm, cause we slept in and we had food on us and your not allowed food inside the Museum, so we decided we will go some other day. INSTEAD, we took our food ( home-made sandwitches!) and went to Central Park and picnicked there while playing cards. The park is HUGE! we went around about 1/10th of it and it took us a good hour....though we were taking our time...BUT STILL!

<---Great Lawn!

Then we went around the Upper East Side, and ate food at this cozy little bistro :) cause we're cool like that.

THEN we mission-ed to Times Square! It is VERY flashy and bright and full of TVs...

<--- Times Square!

We went into the Toys R US building. It had a Ferris wheel inside it and a giant transformer and a lot of giant LEGO statue AND a human sized Barbie HOUSE! Yay!

<---Anna with Optimus Prime!

OVERALL, it was a good day... Especially in comparison to Thursday when we did NOTHING...just sat at home and acted like the Nerds we are...

Pokemon Platinum is addictive....I SWEAR!

Visiting the Village

So, we did indeed go out tonight to sight-see. Though, the main place we saw was Greenwich Village, which is basically this bar/pub/club/bohemian lifestyle district!!! It was fun!

We walked around and just kinda got to know the area. Walked into the Chess Shop which had these really unique themed chest sets on display...

Then we ended up going to a couple bars (our fakes worked!!!) and listening to the LIVE-MUSIC!!!! The first one was called 'Back Fence' and they give u peanuts still in the shell and you sit there drinking and cracking shells and THROWING THE SHELLS ON THE FLOUR!!! We made an impressive pile beside our table. I can't imagine how bad the floor gets on a weekend! ;D

The second bar we went to had more jazzy kind of music and it was SOOOO GOOD! I swear at one point I teared up because the lead singer was so pasionate it was insane!

<--- thats him in the orange! He has an awesome voice! (sorry for the crap pic)

After this bar, we headed home cause it was getting late and the guy driving us and showing us around (Anna's uncle) has work in the morning...

But on the way back we stopped by the pier and got some more epic pictures of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan (mostly the Financial Distric) from across the water...

<--- Brooklyn Bridge!

<--- Financial District, Manahattan, New York City, NY

:) Tomorrow we are going to Central park and the MET. Its gonna be fun!

ps. It just started raining again....thank god it didn't rain when we were outside...phew~

I an in NYC!!! Woot!

Ichigo "Whee"
I just re-read the last post I posted, and I realized that as far as LJ is concerned this huge epic party-carefree-depressed-reckless-hyper month of just non-stop drama didn't happen. I guess I was just so caught up in everything that LJ was the last thing on my mind...

Anyway, one good thing that came out of that month was this kinda last minute trip to New York with my best-friend Anna. Today is my second day here and I'm living here for 5 weeks living with Anna's relatives...
So I'm thinking LJ is gonna be a nice way to document everything that happened and post relevant pictures. Obviously the pictures will eventually get on Facebook and all that, but this way I can pick and choose which ones I'm putting up, and I can also tell the stories behind the pics more freely.

So...

Yesterday ( July 6th) we left home (Toronto, Canada) to drive down to Buffalo, US. That drive took a little under 2 hours which was pretty good time and we got to the airport in Buffalo early. Then the plane ride from Buffalo to JFK airport in New York was really short; about 40-50 minutes.

So we get to NYC around 10 pm, get our bags etc, and get picked up by Anna's uncle and driven home. We get home around 11pm and settle in. The house we are staying at is in Brooklyn, in this nice neighborly area :) Anyway, the family that lives here, Anna's relatives, they are mostly gone on vacation, at a cottage up north. Only the husband is staying here during the weekdays and goes up to the cottage on the weekends. Anyway, since its only him here, they gave us the master bedroom to share and he took one of the kids rooms. Most of the day he isnt home and me and Anna just chill and go out by ourselves.

ANYWAY, today is our first full day here...we woke up late, around noon-ish, had breakfast and headed out to explore. I found a bank and exchanged my money into US bills and we bought a Metro pass so its easy to subway around. Then, since we had the pass on us anyway, we went to Coney Island. The beach was pretty nice..and I got to touch the water of the Atlantic Ocean for the first time! YAY!

<---- me on Coney Island with the "Wonder Wheel" in the background

BUT THEN IT RAINED! *sad*

So we headed back to the subway and subway-ed our way a couple stops along the coarst to Brighton Beach Subway stop, hoping to out-run the rain. It didnt work. It was raining even harder at Brighton Beach so we didn't even bother mission-ing all the way to the actual BEACH and just found a starbucks to sit in and wait out the rain (the Starbucks made me feel like I was back home...same smell and everything)

Brighton Beach area is also knows as Little Russia ( imagine naming the largest country in the world LITTLE!)!!! Me and Anna, being russian, fit in way too well for a couple pf tourists....

Then we just headed back home.

We almost didn't get back into the house, because we didn't know how to work the lock, but somehow we got it oppened after freaking about for a good...15 minutes at least...

Then we just chilled, wrote e-mails back home etc. Made dinner and all that....

OMG! BRB...
.................
......................
.............................ICE CREAM TRUCK!!!!

We just ran out of the house at full speed and all the way around the block looking for where the ice-cream truck music was coming from. We looked exactly like those obese kids running after the ice cream truck in one of those 'stay healthy' commercial. Except, unlike them, we actually managed to catch the ice cream truck and get some yummy ice cream :D it was so worth the run!

Now we are sitting here eating it instead of eating the dinner we had just finished making because, obviously the ice cream is soooo much healthier :D hahaha

Tonight, we MIGHT be going out sightseeing in Manhattan, depending on the time and weather :P

So, till next time~ (which will probably be this evening)

Stuffs and Poetry

Orehime the robot
So yesterday a lot of good things happened but it was still busy as hell

I finally did my calculus test...and probably failed it. Not even asian-fail which is like a ...85% but REALLY fail. Like I will be happy to get a 60%. I don't think I get a single answer correct, I'm just hoping for part marks to get me through.

Also I went to the dentist yesterday and got a cleaning and then my braces tightened and lastly the stitches from my operation removed. THEN after all that I went back to school ( thank god my dentist is close to my school) and spend another hour or so in the art room doing the printing of my etching. It turned out pretty okay.

After that I met up with a friend and went for coffee and when I finally got home I couldn't even relax because I was running late for night school.

I got home at 10:30, took a shower, washed my hair and then still had to do homework!!!

The only saving grace was that it was for creative writing and therefore interesting. I'm writing a ballad. Its not done.... yet. But its loosely based of
this fic.

Basically it follows a young boy who had just been kicked out of his home and he becomes homeless because he is too prideful to ask anyone for help.

Here is what I have so far:

Like? Hate? I'm kinda stuck on it...so some critisism would be MUCH APRICIATED.

I have more poems on the way. Just give me a few more hours (aka. days b/c I'll prolly forget) and I'll have some other stuff finalized...

Post Surgical Swelling

  • Feb. 26th, 2009 at 2:26 PM
ZOMG Ichigo
So I've been having problems with one of my front teeth...its like the 2nd to the right from the middle...

I had a root-canal done there a couple years ago...and everything seemed good....but I think because I got braces recently, all the moving of the teeth around made the root-canal fail and the gum got infected. The infection got all retarded and swelled up...and when I went to the dentist on tuesday for a check up, it hurt a lot and I was kinds getting worried.

When I get there she tells me that its a really big infection and she is gonna have to operate. She freezes me like a good 6 times, then cuts a hole in my gum and spends the next hours or so cleaning the infection out....

Even though I was frozen it still hurt a lot becuase she had to scrape the "membrane" (or whatever she said it was) out and to do that she can constantly scrapping along bone, and the freezing doesn't affect bone so it was like taking a knife to exposed nerve endings.
IT HUUUURTTTT!

At one point she even had to stop because I was shaking too much and give me about 10 minutes to cry and calm down. During those ten minutes she helped me calm done by saying "Oh, look, my lab coat is so bloodied I should go change. I have the time right now anyway. Just wait here for a minute honey." Seriously woman! That's not what you say to a person shaking from shock!

And When it was finally all over she stitched me up and wiped my face with a cheerful, "Don't want to look like a vampire with all that blood on your face." o_O

Now I'm sitting at home, on a liquid diet, with gauze on my gum and my face swollen up. This morning the swelling was so bad one of my eyes was slightly swollen shut! And the surgery wasn't even anywhere near my EYE!!!

Also, apparently I have to go to school tomorrow...how I'm gonna do that, I don't know! But I guess I have to work it out somehow.
All I do at home is read fanfiction, eat mushy foods and try to feel the swelling down with an ice pack.
So it is getting boring, but I still don't wanna go to school. Not becuase i don't wanna learn, I WANT to, mostly becuase I don't wanna have to make up the work later. Mostly I just don't wanna go because I don't want people to see how my face looks. The swelling is one only one side of my face, so I'm kinda lopsided right now. Not exiting

Arggg...I'm gonna go be productive and draw or something....

I just re-read my last post...and just to clarify...I DID have fun on New years. It could have been better. But it was still good. I was pretty bored cause I wasn't drunk and I didn't know anyone. Finally at around 11pm I dragged my friend out to go get high in the stairwell and then the last hour of 2008 was much better. I just felt super happy and lazy and happy. Plus it helped that right before the New Year my friend basically pushed me onto this one hot guy and I ended up dancing and making out with him on new years....but then we had to go and he was kinda really drunk/high/krunk etc. So whatever...

ANYWAY...what I actually wanted to post about is...

I GOT A NEW PHONE!!!! THE RED BLACKBERYY PEARL!!! :D Its a hundred times better and easier to use then my old HTC crappy chunky smartphone.

PS. And I also dyed my hair "blond" this morning...but it turned out kinda orange-ish. Oh well.

Hangover

  • Dec. 29th, 2008 at 9:22 PM
Sparta
Yesterday I had my second annual Winter/New Years/x-mas Party. I have parties fairly often and since I didn't have one for Halloween this year I figured I would make this one really big.

Yup. It was big. Too big. Or maybe that is just my perspective. It started at around 8 or so and I was stupid and got shitfaced REALLY fast. Usually I pace myself and therefore I only get tipsy and never get hangovers. But this time I got overly exited because one of my friends was drinking for the first time and these older friends of mine were coming and some friends that I haven't seen since elementary school stopped by.

Anyway...it was fun...so I just continued taking shots after shot after shot.

I don't remember the second part of the night....and i definitely don't remember how or when or on who I passed out. Though people have started to fill me in with details today (they are not pretty).

This morning I woke up at 6am, threw up....drank some water and tried to sleep but as soon as i closed my eyes I got dizzy and have to run to the bathroom to throw up again. Then I drank some MORE water but I think it was too much water too fast or something because I then had to go and throw the water back up. ANYWAY....it was not a pleasant morning. The rest of the morning and early afternoon was spend cleaning up and having a GIANT EGG-FILLED breakfast with a few of my friends that crashed.

And to make the day complete my friend informed me that some stupid kids EGGED MY HOUSE....WITH MY OWN EGGS. They could have at least went and bought some eggs of their own, or used my eggs to egg some other house. Cheap assholes >_>

Sigh

Eitehrway the last 24 hours or so have been exiting, but horrible at the same time. Oh well....at least now I have been properly hung over. New experiences for the win!

I realize that its not yet Saturday, but I already know that the fic I'm working on isn't gonna happen until at least mid next week. I thought I had ALL this time since today is a P.A. day and I have no school and then its the weekend but things are NOT working out. I spend all day today out; first at the University fair and than just shopping and I am DEAD tired right now. Tomorrow I'm going downtown to the Clothing Show which is like a bunch of boutiques bring it their stuff and have booths in this one qiant building. And then when I get home I have maybe an hour to relax and then I work till midnight. Lastly Sunday I have art class from 1 to 5 and then I have SHITLOADS of homewokr to do.

So its screwed. But I really like the idea I have for this piece...its slowly evolving in my head and I really wanna make it good...maybe even a multi-chapter. So I'm exited about it too.

By saying this hear I make it permanent.

I WILL write another Kanda/Allen fic by this weekend.

Aka. I will start now and hopefully finish tomorrow and have it edited or whatnot and up by friday/saturda ish. Depending on how RL pans out. Plus this gives me a little bit of leeway as far as deadlines go. So If I really wanted to I can just say screw it and go to sleep right NOW, and no one would be the wiser as long as I still get it up by Saturday. :P But I'm not gonna do that. I WILL at least do the outline right now. since I don't have to be up tomorrow until 10am ish anyway.

I've been meaning to write for a while ( because I promised myself I would write) and stuff has actually been happening in my life that is semi funny/interesting/important that I wanna rant/write/document on LJ but I always seem to just get tooooooo LAAAZYYYYYYY~

Here is a super shortened run down of some of the interesting stuff:
-Some day I can't exactly remember when: Me and my friend Linda and Dan who are usually fairly prude-ish and don't like to get plastered/smashed got drunk and for some unforeseeable reason went to my work to see my co-worker and linda had the alchy bottles in her purse and she fully dropped it on the ground INSIDE the cafe and everything inside broke. All her shit smells like butterscotch snapps now. And since we went pretty late the place was closing and the boss was supposed to show up any second to check up and close up so we were panicking like crazy. But it all worked out. Phew.

-Friday: Two of my guy-friends picked me up after work at 11:00 pm and we went to do something, but couldn't really find anything to do so we hot-boxed my friends car (not with weed, but with shisha, aka. flavored tobacco) and talked about porn (yeah, I know, how awkward, lol) and a bunch of other stuff until 5AM!!!! and then i had to sneak back into my house and pretend to sleep when I heard my grandpa getting up(he gets up REALLY early)

-Saturday: I had work at 7 but the same guy friends from Friday and some others took me out to a Buda Bar/resterant place where you eat and smoke shisha (cause it's technically legal) and I ended up coming to work at 7:30 smoking like grape smoke and my boss was THERE! lol.

-This week (aka. Monday to wednesday) so far has bombed, and has just generally been supper boring but tomorrow is picture day so things should be better...even if I have to show up early cause I'm a Prefect and need to help out.

-Also starting Friday and lasting till now: I HAVE A TUMOR ON MY KNEE!!!! okay...maybe not really...but it was a retarded mosquito bite that grew to GIANT proportions and was VERY red and HARD and GROSS and HUUURT.....so, it sucked. Its a bit better now...but its still there.

.......also just to throw this out there....I think I might have a MINIATURE crush on this one guy (and I think he likes me back :P) but he had only recently broke up with him gf of 3 years (and they are still friends) so I don't wanna be a rebound either....*sigh* whatever, we'll see how that goes.

I am SOOOOO NOT feeling this.

I went into school at 10:15 because I had a first period spare and got to sleep in. But that kinda killed the mood of it for me. Plus I wore these nice new clothes that just didn't go with the weather AT ALL. Lastly I wanted to feel a little more poised or whatnot so I stole my moms heels. She wears them to work and keeps saying how amazingly comfortable they are. BUT THEY KILL. My feet were in so much pain! Also I hadn't done my back-to-school shopping AT ALL. So I didn't really have binders and all that jazz so I missed out there. And I don't really have a locker yet either so I'm stuck caring everything around for the next little while. AND IT SUCKS> Everything sorta sucks. My classes are okay but I don't like the seating arrangment in ANY of them and I don't really like the teachers all that much either. So....ya.

My first day back kinda sucked.

Hope yours was better.

Black Out

  • Aug. 30th, 2008 at 1:53 AM
Kon
I have this feeling that I just had a blank out, or black out, or a short tern memory loss moment just now.

I went to brush my teeth before bed and I distinctly remember going into the washroom and then next thing I realize is I have a slightly minty taste in my mouth and I have a hazy recollection of using the sink but I don't actually know if I brushed my teeth...So I just went ahead and brushed them (again?)....BUT STILL, it was creppy. It reminded me of those creppy 'black outs' that the main character of The Butterfly Affect had. Weird....AND SOOO CREEEEPY. *shudder*

Now how am I supposed to fall asleep after that?

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Insperation struck again and I managed to write this in about an hour or so! :D Aren't you proud of me!?!

Title: Salvation
Fandom/Pairing: D. Gray Man/KandaxAllen
Characters: Kanda Yuu, Allen Walker
Prompt: #06 Trust
Word Count: 1,104
Rating: PG
Summary: Allen puts his faith in the bond of mutual trust he and Kanda share because it is the only thing keeping him sane.
Disclaimer:
Don’t own.
Author’s Notes:  This is completely based on my interpretation of Chapter 169. I’m using the quote from page 15 of this chapter. And it was Allen’s face in the last panel of this page with the blood smudge on his cheek that inspired this. Also the last panel on the last page of this chapter where Kanda and Allen walk away together had some influence too. Be warned that some of my interpretations are bound to be wrong.
